Good morning hive mind,
A gazillion years ago on ICQ you could set yourself to “talk to me” mode and you’d show up in searches, and people knew you were up for chatting with strangers.
I learned that if you deleted your gender you could set yourself to “talk to me” and run searches by geographic location to ask questions of people who were in places. With the gender field filled in it was a bad business, because everything would flood with notifications from dudes who wanted you to marry them or do dirty stuff via webcam.
I want to be able to search by geographic location for people who are online right now and up for chatting with someone random, on a platform not oriented to dating.
The skypeme mode also used to exist; something like that is what I’m looking for.
Since I’m running out of vacation days, I feel like traveling in virtual mode this year.
Can anyone think of a service that could work for me?
