Today I listened to an interview where an ex-Googler explains differences between what people answer in surveys and what they search on Google.
For example, things happen like: looking at surveys, the percentage of gay men seems very different across places, while if you look at Google search volumes, the percentage of people searching for gay porn is very similar everywhere. He also talks about a correlation between porn search volume and unemployment.
I don’t know, things like that.
Well, it turns out “is my son gifted?” is searched 2.5 times more than “is my daughter gifted?“. Meanwhile, “is my daughter fat?” is searched twice as often as “is my son fat?“.
But hey, we don’t raise them differently, we all have the same opportunities and machismo doesn’t exist, it’s the parents.
