Original in Spanish: El ciervo y el hombre sordo
A man comes across a deer in trouble. He is deaf, so calling for help is hard for him and making himself understood could take too long. He decides to take the risk.
He grabs a strap and a long branch, crawls closer, carefully, aware that he won’t be able to hear if the ice cracks beneath him. He saves the animal (there’s video).
Then, moved, with his sleeves and hands still wet, he records another video explaining what happened.
Many applaud and thank him. Some mock the way he speaks because he’s deaf, others attack him for recording the video, and some turn out to be super-specialists in deer and criticize him for letting the animal go instead of killing it right there to end its suffering.
Bloody internet and people’s opinions.
I’m very aware that I’m voicing a negative opinion right now too; I’m not sure how my opinion is different from theirs.
What they do criticizing the man seems wrong to me; what I do criticizing them doesn’t.
I’m not sure how theirs is different from mine.
