Original in Spanish: Derren Brown
I already liked Derren Brown back when he paid for jewellery with blank pieces of paper instead of banknotes.
Now there are a couple of his shows on Netflix.
The first one I watched today is called “The Push”, and it’s about manipulating a guy into pushing another man off the edge of a building with the intention of killing him. Milgram-experiment vibes, but on steroids.
The other one is “The Miracle”, where he plays at posing as a cult guru and heals people.
I’ve always liked illusionists; I can’t help looking for the trick and it amuses me. The harder it is to catch the trick, the more I like it. If I can’t catch the trick at all, they have my respect.
Well, it turns out the guinea-pig guy in “The Push” looks like the same man he heals in “The Miracle”.
Not like this, Derren Brown, mate, seriously. Not like this.
I don’t even understand it. All that money invested in the show and he couldn’t afford different actors?
