Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi: a Spanish directing, writing and producing duo (and a couple for 13 years, until 2025), so joined at the hip that Spain gave them one plural name. They make big, emotional, unapologetically queer stories for stage, TV and cinema.

Their second feature, La bola negra (2026), built on an unfinished Federico García Lorca play, won them Best Director at Cannes.
