A late-19th-century inventor builds a machine that breaks time and space, and a parade of odd characters walks out of it. That’s Kurios: Cabinet of Curiosities, the steampunk big-top show by Cirque du Soleil, written and directed by Michel Laprise, premiered in Montreal in 2014.

Jazz and electro swing in the score, aerial bicycles and contortion on stage, and reviews calling it the company’s best in years. The subtitle is basically a live-action Gabinete de Curiosidades.
