Yesterday I went to Microteatre Barcelona.
In case you don’t know it: microtheatre is a most interesting concept. I think it takes a lot of talent to pull someone into a story in only 15 minutes, and if in the end that particular piece isn’t that great, meh, it only lasts a little while. It’s always entertaining, usually surprising, often it takes me somewhere else. Also, I think you need serious guts to act that close to the audience. Really, I hugely respect what those people do.
But yesterday’s was something else. Never in my life had I been moved so fast: I went from sitting down on the stool to the first tear in SECONDS. My thought at that moment was: and now what’s going to happen? Almost the whole play is still ahead! What are they going to do with me now? And then, well… they knew what to do with me. I kept thinking about it for hours. In fact today, the day after, it still crosses my mind now and then. And I’ll shut up now, because you need bomb-disposal skills not to spoil something this short, and because I don’t want to inflate your expectations in that way where, if it caught you unaware of how good it is, you’d like it even more, because expectations and-so-on-and-so-forth, but I can’t tell you without telling you, you know? XD
The website says it runs until March 3rd. Get moving and don’t miss it.
