King of Sparta, brother of Agamemnon and husband of Helen. When Paris took her to Troy, the Greeks went to war to get her back: that’s the war of The Iliad.
In The Odyssey he’s back home with Helen, and receives Telemachus when he comes asking about his father. Played by Jon Bernthal in The Odyssey (film) (2026).
Paris was a guest in his house when he left with Helen: a breach of Xenia, the sacred hospitality of the Greeks, and the spark of the war.
